Sometimes, you find yourself at the center of everything, and it may seem slightly unfair - but when times call upon us - we must do our best! It doesn’t matter if you’re a mother or a grandmother, events can sometimes revolve around us, and thus, more people will rely on us. It can be hard, keeping the entire family happy. That’s without talking about the interests and needs of our children, who can perhaps be the loudest and most boisterous members of our families! We have a responsibility to do our best to keep the kids happy! It may seem incredibly hard sometimes, but the consequences of raging and unhappy children are worse! Find some time and remember that you have a job to do here - and that’s to care and look after the kids. Ignoring them simply won’t do. There are plenty of ways you can keep your children entertained, and it could be an old-school method or something that’s more recent. You should try and find as many options as you can - it’s a bit annoying to be told to go and ‘read a book’ as a kid, especially if you've no interest in literature yet! Books, serve their purpose - but so does music, cooking, boardgames, computing and other activities. Diversify with these if you’re looking after children. Ideally, the first thing you should do is get to know them a little bit - find out what they enjoy and try to cater for everyone. If you’re out at the park playing some sports, it’s likely that someone will feel left out. Try to be inclusive with your activities, but at the same time don’t let a spoilsport derail everything. Foster an interest in hobbies they don’t like and get them to enjoy it all! It could be that they like cooking - if so, share the kitchen with them. Teach them key cooking skills and your favorite recipes. Cooking can be fun!
It could be that they like music - get them some headphones and show them your favorite records. There are solutions all around. If they like films and you have a phone - look no further than ShowBox. ShowBox has been awarded as the best free movie streaming app of the year, so it’s a fantastic choice. Make sure your house has plenty on offer in case kids stop by - boardgames are a great option. While Monopoly is not bad, look for newer games - King of Tokyo is simpler and well suited to kids, while Ticket To Ride is a less sinister version of Monopoly. If you are using gadgets to entertain the kids, make sure they are all charged up. Keep the relevant cables at hand in case the battery runs dry! That goes for mobile phones, tablet computers, laptops and portable gaming devices. There’s plenty on offer for kids to enjoy and a true fusion of old and new is the best way to entertain all! Just be inventive and reactive. It’s a hard job, but there’s nothing more satisfying than knowing that you have pleased the children in your care. Comments are closed.
