There is nothing worse than being stuck indoors with nothing to do, especially when you have a child that is nagging you and complaining about the obvious boredom lingering in the air. This is a scenario that most parents tend to dread because we all know that kids have needs, and when they're bored and aren’t getting the stimulation that they require - they will surely let you know, again, and again, and again. So you're going to want to do all that you can to never find yourself stuck in this situation. Of course, sometimes plans change or the weather takes a turn for the worst - you can't control that. But what you can control, is the ideas that you have ready in your back pocket for when these days come. Here are a couple of ideas to get you started. Delve into the virtual world. If your child enjoys a video game or two, then they may just want to play the highly engaging Final Fantasy mobile game. A lot of parents tend to worry about their child playing games as they aren't always sure what they have access to, but this game in particular is a brilliant way to stimulate their minds and get their creative juices flowing. They are able to live in a magical kingdom where they can build it up as they go, while trying to protect it from the threats of monsters. They can also go off and explore the lost world and finding hidden treasure to keep. Not only that, but they can even connect with their friends online too, and help one another progress further in the game by working together. Find a hidden talent. If you have some paper and pens, then why not have an art session and go wild? The wonderful thing about art is that there are no rules or guidelines to follow, you can create anything you wish, and it doesn't need to make sense in order to be appreciated. So get out the paints and join in with creating a masterpiece. Doing this will also give you an interesting insight into your child's mind that you may have never seen before. If art isn't their thing, then why not music instead? Don't worry if you haven't got an instrument at home like a guitar - all you need to do is have a look in the kitchen and you'll be greeted with tones of appliances that make noise... Now you have a couple of ideas, have a think about what more you can do. And if you're still not sure, then one thing that can never disappoint, is a movie marathon. If you haven't got the snacks you need, pop out to the shop and get some popcorn, chocolate, sweets, and whatever other goodies you like. Then stick on your favourite movies and spend your day snuggling with naughty treats to keep you going. Remember, having fun doesn't mean spending money. Sometimes the best things in life are free.
