(This article was contributed by Daisy. Thanks Daisy. I know that readers will find it really helpful.) Christmas holidays are always filled with excitement and worries. It is the happiest time of the year and the most busy with all these shopping and cleaning duties. If you want to escape from stress you should start preparing a month earlier. Begin early- don't try and do it all in one day When you finish buying all the presents, cards and the remainder of the Christmas shopping, you can start with the cleaning chores. It will be good to do this at least a week before the holiday. If you follow the instructions for stress-free holiday you may even have time to rest the day before Christmas or to focus on cooking only. 1. Declutter First start with clutter and old things you don’t need. Clear your house from everything useless. This will make the cleaning process easier. If you struggle in determining what to throw away or lack motivation to declutter, remember: `Move fast. Don`t overthink it.` Look at your wardrobe and throw away all old clothes you don’t wear. Make room for the others which are always on the couch or on some chair in your home. Put your shoes in order. If there are pairs you don’t wear every day, put them in boxes or bags and keep them on place easy to reach but hidden from guests. While you’re gathering all the clothes and shoes in the house, look which ones are clean and which one must go in the laundry. After that grab the trash can and walk around the whole house. Put there everything which is needless. Everything which has left after that are things you must put in order. Collect everything at one place and divide it in different groups – for example which one in what room must be, or what it is used for. It is just an example. You can separate it in however you want. 2. Tidy your shelves After that, put order in your shelves to make space for the items you have just assembled. 3. Vacuum, mop and clean everything, everywhere When everything is tidy, it is time for the vacuum cleaner to come on the cleaning scene. Vacuum not only the floors but also the furniture, cushions, and curtains. It will be easier after that to wash the cushions and curtains, and clean the furniture, especially if you want to remove stains from soft furniture. Wipe and mop. It’s an easy thing which we do almost every day and you don’t need special instructions here. Just grab the cloth and do it. Thereafter clean the carpet(s) and mop the floor. The carpet cleaning may take longer if you have a pet and there is hair everywhere. Home cleaners London says squeegee is the best appliance in this case. It makes hair cleaning fast and easy. When you start mopping, you can also mop the carpet to refresh it and gather the dust which came out on the surface after squeegeeing. When you’re done with this work, you can start removing stains from your carpet and soft furniture. You can find some tips how to do it easily or to call professional cleaners. 4. Clean the bathroom The next step is to clean the bathroom. If you don’t have time for deep cleaning, just clean the most visible spots and stains and put your cosmetics in order. Add an oil-diffuser with a fresh fragrance in the room. On Christmas day change the towels and empty the trash can. 5. Finish with the kitchen The kitchen must be cleaned after you’re done with cooking. Otherwise it is senseless. The only thing you can do the day before is to wash your dishes for special occasions. Except from things like vacuuming and mopping, here you will need to clean your stove and of course wash the dishes. For stove cleaning again you can call professionals. In this way you will impress your friends with shining stove and will save time for yourself. These Pre-Christmas cleaning steps must be done in different days because it looks easy but sometimes it takes more time than we think.
